Labour Relations—Supervisors and Managers

In this one-day overview of Labour Relations, Supervisors and Managers will gain helpful, general knowledge about the pros and cons of working with unions and about what impact a union environment has on business. Theory review will include definitions and explanations of labour relations, grievances, managers, roles, and union stewardship. Interesting side discussions like, but not limited to, why don't they just do what they are supposed to do! Often occur and result in a more accepting and effective approach. Most importantly, specific, hands-on practical skills will be incorporated so that, by the end of the workshop, supervisors and managers will be able to recognize when to move from one stage of performance management, directing, coaching, correction, and discipline to another and be able to start applying the skills needed in each phase.
