This course provides a basic foundation to Industrial Radiography. Learners cover the physical principles of penetrating radiation, sources, detection, process and weld interpretation. They also focus on practical applications and theory for Level 1 CGSB certification. Radiation safety with x-ray tubes, required by the Alberta government codes, is also covered.
Prerequisite: Recommended INSP-220 Radiation Safety for Exposure Device Operator Trainees, and at least three months field experience in radiographic inspection. For CGSB certification contact NRCan.
