Steamflooding, CSS, SAGD and in-situ combustion all utilize the same thermal principles but employ different drilling and recovery techniques. This course will promote a comparative view of the strengths and failures of current as well as developing technologies. A general understanding of thermal heavy oil technology will provide you with insight into both the present and the future of Alberta's oil and gas industry.
