This course provides an overview of the upstream petroleum industry and an introduction to conventional oil and gas well drilling. Learners will be given opportunities to explore key topics, which include legal survey systems, land sales, mineral rights, equipment and materials used to drill wells (fluids, bits, casing and cementing), well control, well evaluation data gathering and fishing.
