This course starts with an introduction to Control system concepts covering DCS, PLC and SCADA based applications, moving into DCS hardware, coupled with basic wiring concepts for instruments and control systems. Also covered are control system design introduction linked with discrete vs. analogue I/O and on/off vs. PID control scenarios. Communications basics and RS232 / R485 concepts are also introduced with Modbus protocol and wireless communication discussions. Delta V software and configuration workshops are covered with related topics throughout the course.
