Taught with an industry perspective and with special emphasis on the Alberta system, this course will provide participants with an overview of the physical, operational and regulatory aspects of the electricity sector; the rationale, development and functioning of competitive wholesale and retail energy markets; the linkages between the physical system and the energy and ancillary services markets; as well as trading and marketing strategies employed by market participants.
