SAIT offers a new, unique series of courses on hydrocarbon measurement—the first of its kind in Canada—which will equip technical personnel to work more effectively in this emerging and growing field.
Funded and Designed by Industry
Funded by the Canadian Institute for Hydrocarbon Measurement, these 14 SAIT courses were collaboratively developed and designed with industry input and by a SAIT team of curriculum specialists, designers, and subject matter and instructional experts with the MacPhail School of Energy. Learners will be provided with fundamental knowledge of petroleum measurement (devices, design, operation and maintenance), business reporting, regulatory requirements, the volume chain and the skills to validate base calculations. Learn more in this two-minute video.
Online, Hands-on and for Customized Group Training
Thirteen of the courses are available in a convenient, self-paced online format and each course is supported by a dedicated SAIT instructional expert to assist with the learning, quizzes, assignments and final project work. The fourteenth and last course, Measurement Lab, provides hands-on training in SAIT’s Calgary-based, world-class lab facility. Ask us how we can develop a program for your organization incorporating these courses for face-to-face and/or blended delivery to groups at your preferred location.
PLAR and Certification
Our hydrocarbon measurement training will be a valuable addition to your employees’ development and career progression. A great option for those seeking certification, SAIT offers the Hydrocarbon Measurement Certificate of Achievement for completion of all 13 courses plus one lab within five years. For those who are seeking transfer credit based on previous post-secondary courses or related work experience for this certificate program, learn more about SAIT’s Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) services.
